Worship

Coming from a variety of backgrounds, and with a broad range of hopes and experiences, the opportunities for worship seek to refresh souls, invigorate hearts, and renew our call to discipleship. The congregation meets at 10:00 a.m. on each Sunday at our church on Dorion ave.

We occasionally meet for “Church in the Woods” which is held at 10:30 a.m. in Westminster Woods, approximately thirty miles east of Pendleton, in the Blue Mountains.  On these Sundays, directions will be left on the church doors so anyone arriving at 10:00am for service will have the option of joining us in the Woods.

We also gather throughout the liturgical year with special services of worship, including Ash Wednesday at the beginning of the Season of Lent, on Maundy Thursday of Holy Week and on Christmas Eve.

Special services throughout the year:

Ash Wednesday

Maundy Thursday

Christmas Eve

We participate in community-wide Wednesday services during the season of Lent, which are hosted by numerous Pendleton congregations.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of each month, and at other times throughout the year.

The Presbyterian Church (USA) affirms that the Lord's Table is open to all believers, and we strive, through our celebration of the sacrament, to “commit ourselves afresh to love and serve God, one another, and [our] neighbors in the world” (from the Directory for Worship).

Throughout the year our congregation receives special offerings to support mission efforts near and far:

One Great Hour of Sharing

Pentecost Offering

Peacemaking Offering

Christmas/Joy Offering

With the approval of the Session of the congregation additional offerings are also received, particularly for the ministry of Presbyterian Women and for Disaster Assistance.
