There are numerous opportunities for involvement and deeper connections within First Presbyterian Church of Pendleton.  Our deacons have outreach ministries to members and friends who are unable to be with us regularly, and our session works through a number of commissions which touch upon all aspects of our congregational life, and these commissions utilize many people within the congregation.

We have a Men's Bible Study group which meets weekly, and Presbyterian Women's circle which meet monthly for study and fellowship.  The Brown Bag Book Group meets weekly during the noon hour to discuss wide-ranging topics; numerous people also prepare and serve lunch for the local chapter of Salvation Army monthly.

Our Chancel Choir, under the direction of Steve Muller, provides vocal music twice each month, with more than a dozen voices; the Chancel choir is accompanied on both organ and piano and is frequently supplemented by additional brass and string instruments.

The Bells of Joy Handbell Choir, under the direction of Annette Matlock, provides music twice a month as well, frequently with the Chancel Choir, and has five octaves of both handbells and chimes.

First Presbyterian Church has also been the site for the Presbyterian Pre-School, which has been part of the Pendleton community since the 1960's, helping 3-4 year olds prepare for a life of learning.

Westminster Woods Camp & Conference Center is in the Blue Mountains, just 30 minutes east of Pendleton.  These 66 acres host many church, family, community, and business outings from April through September, as well as more than 100 Kindergarten through Sixth Grade day-campers each July for a week of Vacation Bible School.

Take a look around our site and drop in, call, or e-mail us if you have any questions.  We hope to see you in church!
